13 dagen onderweg | 13 day’s on the road

Sinds we vertrokken zijn hebben we mooi weer gehad: de zon schijnt uitbundig en het heeft nog niet geregend. Wel met een koude Noord-Oosten wind die we dus vooral tegen hebben. Volgens de Denen zijn dit weersomstandigheden die pas over een maand gangbaar zijn, desalniettemin is het in de schuilhutten koud ‘s ochtends. Maar omdat deze ‘shelters’ zijn voorzien van hout voor een kampvuur, kruipen we warm in onze slaapzakken! De schuilhutten liggen op prachtige plekken, meestal in het bos, alleen toegankelijk voor voetgangers en fietsers.

We ervaren Denemarken als georganiseerd en ingetogen. De taal klinkt ons als een Deense crimi in de oren. De fietsroute die we volgen hebben we hier opgepikt en is goed bewegwijzerd. De route voert ons langs mooie vakwerkboerderijen, kleine dorpjes en lege voetbalvelden, heuvel op- en af. Pittige tochten maar met de nodige rustpauzes goed te doen.

Since we left we have had nice weather: the sun is shining exuberantly and it has not rained yet. There’s a cold North-East wind that we mainly have against. According to the Danes, these are weather conditions that will only become common in a month, nevertheless it is cold in the mornings in the shelters. But because these shelters are provided with wood for a campfire, we crawl into our sleeping bags warm! The shelters are located in beautiful places, mostly in the forest, only accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

We experience Denmark as organized and understated. The language sounds like a Danish crimi to us. We have picked up the cycling route that we follow here and it is well signposted. The route takes us past beautiful half-timbered farms, small villages and empty football fields, up and down the hill. Tough tours but doable with the necessary rest breaks.
